UNION, N.J. – Bed Bath & Beyond is upping the ante on buy online for curbside pickup purchases. Beginning July 15, e-commerce orders placed during the evening can be picked up at Bed Bath & Beyond and buybuy Baby stores as early at 8 a.m., one hour before typical store opening hours.
For regular buy online/pickup in store purchases, BBB is narrowing the pickup window to one hour from the time a digital order is placed. It had been two hours.
In addition, the company today announced that it has nearly doubled the number of ZIP codes eligible for same day delivery through a new strategic U.S. partnership with crowdsourced delivery platform, Roadie. Roadie uses more than 200,000 drivers nationwide and will bring the total ZIP codes eligible for same-day delivery from Bed Bath & Beyond and Buybuy Baby to nearly 16,000. The company also offers same day delivery through partners DoorDash and Shipt.
“The country is getting ‘back to normal,’ and we want to give consumers expanded flexibility on how to get online orders, within hours,” said Rafeh Masood, executive vice president and chief digital officer of Bed Bath & Beyond.
During the first quarter of this year, digital sales accounted for 38% of net sales, and approximately 31% of digital sales were fulfilled by stores through initiatives such as same day delivery, BOPIS or curbside pickup.
More than 50% of all Bed Bath & Beyond customers shop both in-store and digitally, the company reported.
