CCX Create members have the opportunity to serve on a newly formed committee or the CCX Media Board of Directors. Both have applications due in mid-March.

CCX Media Board of Directors (At Large Seat)

The Northwest Suburbs Cable Communication Commission is seeking applications for people interested in serving on the CCX Media Board of Directors. There is currently a vacancy in the at large position.

The practice over the history of the organization has been to appoint current NWSCCC members who are not currently serving on the CCX Media Board of Directors to the at large positions when they come available. If NWSCCC members are not interested in the position, we would advertise the open position to Create Producers and residents of our nine member cities. This position is for a two-year term.

CCX Media is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that was formed by the NWSCCC in 1982. CCX stands for Connected Community Experience, and that connection to the community is a focus of each of the five departments which serve our nine member cities.  CCX Media is governed by a Board of Directors that has 15 members. The Board consists of one representative from each of the nine member cities, four at large members and two members who are elected by Create volunteers. The CCX Media Board of Directors also has an Executive Committee. Its duties involve any powers delegated to it by the Board.

The CCX Media Board of Directors meets quarterly in February, May, September, and November at 7:30 a.m. The meetings are held at CCX Media, 6900 Winnetka Avenue North, Brooklyn Park, MN 55428.

Applications are due by March 13, with interviews completed by mid-April. A recommendation for appointment will be made to the NWSCCC at its May 16th meeting.

CCX Create Action Committee

CCX Media is seeking applications for people interested in serving on the CCX Create Action Committee.

The CCX Create Action Committee will have a mission of enhancing member engagement, recruitment, and outreach. The committee will meet twice monthly, and will research, make recommendations to staff, and be active in the committee’s mission.

CCX Create is a community media center providing free television training, equipment, and facility use to residents and non-profit organizations in the nine member cities. Upon completion of training requirements, members can use the facility to create non-commercial content that is then uploaded on Comcast 859HD and 20SD.

Applications are due March 15, and the first meeting will be scheduled for April.
