Palouse Discovery Science Center Welcomes New Director Ariel Griebling

PULLMAN — The Palouse Discovery Science Center (PDSC) has announced the appointment of Ariel Griebling as its new Director, succeeding her role as Interim Director. With a robust connection to the Pullman community and a fervent dedication to science education, Griebling is poised to lead the PDSC in its mission to inspire curiosity and promote interactive learning through STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics) activities.

“I am honored to step into the role of Director at the PDSC and to continue our mission of sparking curiosity and fostering a love of learning in children of all ages,” Griebling stated in a recent announcement. She expressed her eagerness to build on the foundation laid by the center and to adapt its offerings in response to the evolving needs of the local community. “Watching children light up as they explore and discover is what keeps me passionate about this work,” she added.

Ariel Griebling’s journey with PDSC began when she joined the organization as a STEAM Educator, where she successfully developed and executed engaging programs and camps designed to bring complex concepts to life for young learners. Griebling’s previous experience includes seven years of teaching, where she cultivated a joyful and hands-on approach to learning. As a product of Pullman, her deep personal and professional ties to the region enhance her capacity to connect with local families and inspire the next generation of thinkers and innovators.

Sara Kinser, President of the PDSC Board, lauded Griebling’s contributions since she assumed the role of Interim Director in June, stating, “Ariel has kept operations running smoothly and we are excited to watch her leadership continue to flourish.”

Under Griebling’s guidance, the PDSC is expected to innovate its programming, strengthen community partnerships, and enhance educational offerings. The center remains dedicated to providing families, educators, and curious minds with hands-on science experiences that make learning enjoyable and memorable.

As the Palouse Discovery Science Center strides into the future with Ariel Griebling at the helm, the institution aims to solidify its role as a pivotal resource for science education in the region, reinforcing its commitment to inspiring lifelong learners and fostering a strong sense of community engagement.
