ArtNow awards ceremony celebrates high school artists hosted by NUMU

New Museum Los Gatos, also known as NUMU, is gearing up to host an awards ceremony for its “ArtNow 2024: In Transition” exhibit on Saturday, April 27 from 3-6 p.m. This exhibit will showcase artworks by 82 talented high school artists from Santa Clara County.

At the ceremony, NUMU will be awarding over ,000 in cash prizes, scholarships, and University Art gift certificates. Awards will be presented in various artistic categories such as painting, drawing, mixed media, printmaking, sculpture, photography, digital art, and video/animation. Additionally, a Best in Show and People’s Choice Award will be given out.

Visitors can participate in voting for the People’s Choice Award until 3 p.m. on April 27, with one vote allowed per visitor per day. Pre-registration is required for voting from 3-4 p.m. on the day of the ceremony.

One lucky student will receive the Mike and Alyce Parsons Best in Show Scholarship, a ,000 prize that will be paid directly to the college of their choice.

In another celebration of the arts, sjDANCEco will be hosting its Spring Dance Festival on April 27-28 at Eastridge Center in San Jose. This free festival marks the beginning of sjDANCEco’s 21st season and will feature performances by over 60 choreographers and dance organizations from the Bay Area, including Lara Jean Choreography and Los Gatos Ballet.
