New Currents festival is an exciting event that aims to showcase fresh and locally sourced talent in Nottingham. The festival is a platform for students to showcase their skills and creativity across different levels and courses, from event management to music performance.
Inspired by the success of day festivals like Beat The Streets and Dot to Dot, the organizers wanted to create an event outside the city center that gives back to the community. With a lineup that includes both up-and-coming talent like Lyvia and local legends like Cappo, the festival offers a mix of genres that represent the vibrant Nottingham music scene.
The event will take place at Trent Navigation, chosen for its outdoor space and support of a local Nottingham venue. Supported by Confetti, the festival offers students the opportunity to gain real-world experience by working on a local event with a talented lineup.
In addition to showcasing local artists, the festival is also taking donations for Emmanuel House, a charity that supports the people of Nottingham. The organizers believe in giving back to the community, especially during challenging times.
Tickets for the event are free and can be found on ticketsource.co.uk/newcurrents. For more information, follow @newcurrentsfestival on Instagram and check out the event page on Facebook. Don’t miss this opportunity to discover and support the talent of Nottingham at New Currents festival.
