Dubai has once again made headlines with the unveiling of its newest lifestyle destination that has broken a world record. The super-luxury twin-tower One Za’abeel, located near the Dubai World Trade Center roundabout, has been named the ‘longest cantilevered building’ in the world by Guinness World Records for its ‘The Link’ concourse.

The prestigious accolade was officially awarded on March 1, solidifying One Za’abeel as a symbol of ambition, innovation, and the pioneering spirit of Dubai. Designed to be a remarkable feat of architecture and engineering, The Link defines the incredible Dubai skyline, according to the Guinness World Records website.

The Link at One Za’abeel is a hub of fine dining and nightlife, housing the UAE’s longest rooftop infinity pool and eight Michelin-inspired restaurants. In addition to luxurious residences, the two towers also feature the One&Only resort, the first ‘SIRO’ branded fitness and recovery hotel, and One&Only Private Homes, along with Grade A office spaces and retail podiums.

Offering breathtaking panoramic views of Dubai from its vantage point, The Link is a must-visit destination for capturing Instagram-worthy moments. The grand opening of One&Only One Za’abeel in February was a star-studded affair, with celebrities like Jennifer Lopez, Nancy Ajram, Mark Ronson, and Idris Elba in attendance.

The design of The Link is a marvel in itself, stretching 230 meters in length between the two towers of One Za’abeel, and sitting 100 meters above the ground. The record-breaking cantilever extends an impressive 67.277 meters beyond the main tower, showcasing the architectural prowess behind the structure.

The construction of The Link was completed in two phases over 16 days, with meticulous planning to ensure minimal disruption to the live traffic below. The heavy steel structure weighing over 8,500 tonnes was lifted and placed into position using special jacks and heavy-duty strand jacks in phase one, followed by the installation of the cantilevered structure weighing over 900 tonnes in phase two over four days.

One Za’abeel’s The Link is a testament to Dubai’s dedication to pushing boundaries in architecture, design, and engineering, solidifying its position as a global leader in innovation and luxury.
