A.P. Moller-Maersk (Maersk) has revealed the launch of an enhanced service offering in New Zealand and the Islands, set to begin on May 17th with an estimated time of arrival at Tauranga. The new NZPAC network will include a weekly service from New Zealand (Tauranga, Auckland) to destinations in Fiji (Suva, Lautoka) and Samoa (Apia). This upgraded service will also provide weekly coverage in American Samoa (Pago Pago) and Tonga (Nuku’alofa).

Operated by three vessels – the PFL Matai 004N, Capitaine Tasman, and Capitaine Tupaia – the NZPAC service aims to improve connectivity in the region. Additionally, Maersk has announced the discontinuation of the present Fiji Express service, with the final journey as NPDL Tahiti 007.

This network expansion comes on the heels of Maersk’s decision to reroute its cargo ships to navigate around the Cape of Good Hope, avoiding the Red Sea amid escalating tensions. With these strategic moves, Maersk continues to demonstrate its commitment to enhancing service offerings and adapting to changing industry dynamics.
