New community-wide street festival debuts in Stretford this summer

Stretford is set to host a vibrant and diverse festival this July, showcasing the town’s community spirit and cultural richness. The event, known as StretFest, is organized by the Stretford Town Centre Forum, a collaboration of local businesses and community groups formed in 2022.

The festival will feature a range of activities including a kid’s craft trail, spoken word performances, local history workshops, and more at venues like Stretford Library. Visitors can also enjoy a pop-up wellness garden offering health and wellbeing programs, live music from local bands and DJs at Head Bar, family-friendly fun at Victoria Park, silent discos, circus workshops, and a BBQ at Stretford Public Hall.

One of the highlights of StretFest will be a special edition of the monthly Stretford Socials at Stretford Mall, which will include the unveiling ceremony for a brand-new public square set to open next year.

Chair of Stretford Town Centre Forum, Andy Simpkins, expressed his excitement for the event, stating, “StretFest is our invitation to everyone to come and experience the community spirit and cultural richness of Stretford. We are excited to showcase our neighborhood’s talents and businesses through an engaging day of fun and festivity.”

StretFest is scheduled to take place on Saturday, July 6. The full festival program will be announced in early June, so mark your calendars and get ready to enjoy a celebration of all things Stretford in various venues across the town.
