Atlantic Coast Recycling recently unveiled its newly renovated recycling processing facility in Passaic, New Jersey, following a million redevelopment project. The 125,000-square-foot plant can now handle over 50 tons of residential and commercial recyclables per hour.

Utilizing state-of-the-art Bollegraaf equipment, the facility boasts a dual- and single-stream system equipped with advanced paper and plastic optical sorters using machine learning technology. This results in the production of high-quality finished paper, plastic, and metal for both domestic and international manufacturers and mills, while also streamlining the recycling process to save valuable time and resources for municipalities.

“All recyclables are stored within the enclosed facility for optimal environmental safety,” the company stated in a press release.

Atlantic Coast Recycling serves over 60 municipalities in New Jersey’s Bergen, Essex, Hudson, and Passaic counties, catering to a population of approximately 1 million people. The significant capital investment for the facility upgrade was led by B. Riley Financial and other investors.

With its enhanced processing capabilities and cutting-edge technology, Atlantic Coast Recycling is poised to make a positive impact on the recycling industry in the region.
