Pennsylvania State Police Troop A Announces Upcoming Hill Impact Program for Teens
Westmoreland County, PA – The Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) Troop A will initiate its annual Hill Impact Program in early 2026, providing an invaluable opportunity for youth within the region. This unique program is tailored for adolescents aged 15 to 18 residing in Southwest and Central Pennsylvania, aiming to engage them in the field of law enforcement while fostering essential life skills.
The Hill Impact Program is set to take place from January 26 to April 6, 2026, every Monday evening from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Participants will gather at the Pennsylvania State Police’s Southwest Training Center, located at 2900 Seminary Drive in Greensburg. This structured program is designed not only to educate attendees about the complexities of a career in law enforcement but also to enhance their physical fitness and readiness.
The curriculum will encompass a variety of topics including criminal justice fundamentals, emergency response techniques, and the ethical responsibilities of law enforcement officers. Additionally, participants will have the opportunity to engage in hands-on activities, which may include defensive tactics and scenario-based training exercises. By providing insights into the daily realities of police work, the program seeks to inspire a new generation of potential law enforcement professionals, encouraging them to consider careers in public service.
In an era where community relations and understanding have become paramount, programs such as the Hill Impact Program play a critical role in bridging the gap between law enforcement agencies and the communities they serve. By fostering an early interest in the field, the program aims to promote positive relationships and enhance community safety.
Interested teens and their guardians are encouraged to register promptly due to limited availability. For further information and to secure a place in the program, potential participants should reach out to Trooper Abby Blazavich via email at zblazavich@pa.gov.
This initiative aligns with the Pennsylvania State Police’s broader mission to engage with local communities and promote public safety through education and outreach. The Hill Impact Program not only seeks to prepare young individuals for potential careers in law enforcement but also emphasizes the importance of civic responsibility and community involvement.
