The Rowan County Public Library is gearing up to host its annual Sun and Moon Star Party this Saturday afternoon. The event, which will run from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., will be held at the Frank T. Tadlock South Rowan Regional Library in China Grove.
This all-ages science and space-themed festival is an official part of the 2024 North Carolina Science Festival, sponsored by RTI International. The theme for this year’s event will pay tribute to the upcoming solar eclipse set to take place on April 8, 2024.
Alongside the Sun and Moon Star Party, other STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) events are scheduled to take place at all four library locations throughout the month-long festival. Activities include a science tool scavenger hunt, an eclipse day celebration, #planthead programs for gardening enthusiasts, opportunities to construct an edible Mars Rover, and storytimes for children.
