Clarksville, TN: Volunteer Opportunities for Teens in Summer 2025
Clarksville is actively inviting high school students to apply for its summer 2025 VolunTeen program, aimed at fostering community service and career exploration in the medical field. Designed for students aged 14 to 18, the program seeks to engage youth interested in pursuing medical careers through hands-on volunteer experiences.
Two distinct sessions are being offered this summer. The first session runs from June 2 to June 6, while the second session is scheduled for July 14 to July 18. Each week-long program will accept up to 20 participants, all of whom must be available to attend each day from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Throughout this immersive experience, participants will be encouraged to explore various aspects of healthcare, enhancing their understanding of the industry and developing valuable skills.
In addition to the week-long sessions, Tennova Healthcare is offering a more extensive two-month VolunTeen program tailored for high school juniors and seniors. Running from June to July, this program requires participants to complete a minimum of 40 volunteer hours. The longer commitment allows volunteers to delve deeper into their areas of interest within the medical field and gain substantial experience that could be beneficial in future academic and career pursuits.
Interested candidates can access the online application for the VolunTeen program at Tennova’s volunteer opportunities webpage. Applications must be submitted by April 21, 2025, and it is crucial for applicants to ensure their submissions are complete, as incomplete applications will not be considered. Selected volunteers will receive notifications via email and must attend a mandatory orientation session. Participants will also be required to adhere to all safety protocols established by Tennova Healthcare to protect the health and well-being of both volunteers and patients.
The VolunTeen program not only cultivates a sense of civic responsibility among young individuals but also ignites their passion for potential careers in healthcare. It is an excellent opportunity for students to not only give back to their community but also gain insights and experience that can inform their future educational choices. As the healthcare landscape continues to evolve, programs like these play a critical role in preparing the next generation of healthcare professionals.
