The upcoming Northampton Film Festival is set to kick off on Friday, March 8th, and will run until Saturday, March 16th. This year’s event will serve as a celebration of filmmakers from both the town and the country. The festival will take place at various venues in Northampton, including Cineworld, Northampton Filmhouse, Delapre Abbey, University of Northampton, and Lings Forum Cinema at the Western Favell Centre.
Attendees can expect to see a diverse group of award-winning, new, and established filmmakers, as well as local filmmakers and filmmakers from across the UK. The festival will also highlight “a celebration of women in film” and feature a Misfits and Mavericks category showcasing dance, music videos, and animations.
Becky Carrier, the Festival Director, expressed excitement about the upcoming event, stating, “We’re doing lots of work around getting people into film. The festival is a great way to show people what goes into making films, to meet filmmakers, and engage in Q&A sessions. We’ve received more entries than ever before this year, ranging from 16-and-unders making their first film to well-established filmmakers.”
