The Queen provided an update on King Charles’ health as he returns to public duties following his battle with an undisclosed type of cancer. Renowned author Lee Child shared that the Queen revealed the King is “doing fine” but refuses to slow down or follow advice, much like a typical husband.
King Charles recently made his first public address at a D-Day event in Portsmouth, signaling his return to public life. Despite his ongoing treatment, he is expected to participate in the upcoming Trooping the Colour ceremony, albeit from a carriage rather than on horseback.
During the Queen’s Reading Room Literary Festival at Hampton Court Palace, Camilla engaged with authors and actors such as Sir Ian Rankin, Ann Cleeves, Miriam Margolyes, and Elizabeth McGovern. Sir Ian mentioned that the Queen informed him that her family are fans of his books.
Margolyes expressed her admiration for the King to the Queen at the festival, acknowledging the royal family’s recent challenges. She described the King as brave, warm, kind, and caring, and emphasized her love for him.
The festival, now in its second year, saw both the King and Queen in attendance during its previous edition. Stay updated on London’s latest events, restaurants, and deals by subscribing to our Going Out Out newsletter.
