R.D. Olson Construction and Meta Housing Corp. have officially broken ground on a new seven-story affordable housing apartment complex named The Alcove in Woodland Hills. This project was expedited through the use of Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass’s Executive Directive 1, aimed at speeding up the approval process for qualifying affordable housing projects.
Situated at 21300 W. Oxnard St., The Alcove is set to be a key component of the revitalization efforts in the San Fernando Valley area. Its prime location offers convenient access to the 101 Freeway, Pierce College, and the nearby Topanga Westfield Mall. The first phase of construction will comprise 173 units, ranging from studios to three-bedroom apartments, and is scheduled for completion in the fall of 2025.
Bill Wilhelm, president of R.D. Olson Construction, expressed gratitude for the long-standing partnership with Meta Housing Corp. “We are honored that Meta Housing Corp continues to entrust us with the important responsibility of creating affordable housing for those in need,” Wilhelm stated.
Looking ahead, phase two of The Alcove is already in the planning stages and is expected to introduce an additional 128 units on the northern section of the 2.25-acre lot. This expansion will further contribute to meeting the demand for affordable housing in the Woodland Hills area.
