Exhibitors are unveiling cutting-edge products, including a laser confocal fluorescence imaging device designed for real-time surgical applications and a flexible intraocular lens for myopia that will soon be produced locally. The expo is seen as a platform for accelerating the market entry of innovative research and development achievements.

In the mobility sector, a new tire that collects tactile data from the road surface aims to enhance safety for drivers. Song Fen, Vice President of Michelin China, noted that this technology has already undergone scenario validation in China, with the first use cases expected next year.

Global companies expand their presence in China

The CIIE serves as a crucial gateway for foreign businesses aiming to access China’s vast markets. Background on the China International Import Expo

Launched in 2018, the CIIE is the world’s first national-level expo dedicated to imports. It aims to facilitate international trade and has become a significant event for foreign enterprises seeking to enter the Chinese market.

Impact on international businesses

Exhibitors like Ysabel Zea, co-founder of the Peruvian brand Warmpaca, and Van Den Hurk, CEO of New Zealand’s TheLand, have reported significant growth in their businesses due to participation in the CIIE. Warmpaca has expanded its supplier network significantly, while TheLand has seen its fresh milk sales increase 26-fold since its first appearance at the expo.

The CIIE not only provides a platform for product displays but also fosters partnerships and collaborations among international companies, contributing to mutual growth and development.
