How to Change or Reset Your UPI PIN if You Forgot it

With the rise of technological advancements, net banking has seen a significant boost, especially with the introduction of the Unified Payments Interface (UPI). This real-time payment system allows users to transfer funds instantly from one bank to another, serving as an alternative to traditional methods like IMPS or NEFT.

To make UPI payments, users are required to set up their UPI accounts and create a UPI PIN, a password that authorizes transactions through mobile payment applications. The UPI PIN is a four or six-digit number set by users during registration or later on. However, there are times when users forget their UPI PIN or have trouble accessing their UPI accounts on platforms like Google Pay, PhonePe, or Paytm.

Fortunately, it is possible to reset or change the UPI PIN by following a few simple steps:

1. Open the mobile payment application that supports your UPI service.
2. Go to your profile option on the home screen.
3. Click on the bank account for which you want to change the UPI PIN.
4. Select the Change UPI PIN/Reset UPI PIN option.
5. Enter the necessary information, such as ATM or debit card details.
6. Enter the OTP sent to your registered mobile number.
7. Verify the OTP to proceed.
8. Choose a new four or six-digit UPI PIN for the selected account.
9. Confirm the new PIN to complete the process.

It’s important to note that bank details may not be required for changing the UPI PIN on every platform. Users should also ensure that their UPI PIN is kept confidential and easy to remember since it controls access to the funds in their bank account.
