The Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) has announced a new partnership with digital payments firm Maya, making it the latest online payment option for loan borrowers. This move aims to enhance the digital payment platforms for the convenience of members and pensioners, according to GSIS president and general manager Wick Veloso.
Through this collaboration, Maya will be integrated into the GSIS mobile app, GSIS Touch, offering borrowers a convenient way to settle their loans anytime and anywhere. This initiative is in line with the government’s push for digital payments in government services, as stated by Maya head of enterprise Pete Cruz.
To make a payment, members and pensioners can use the GSIS Touch app to select the loan type, payment amount, and choose Maya under the eWallets section. They will then be directed to the Maya app to confirm the payment, with details sent to their email for verification.
The GSIS Touch app allows payments for various loans, including GSIS Multipurpose Loan Flex, GFAL-Education Loan, Policy Loan, Emergency Loan, and Pension Loan. This new online payment option aligns with Republic Act No. 8792 and RA 11032, which promote the use of electronic means for transactions and efficient government service delivery.
Overall, the partnership between GSIS and Maya offers a more streamlined and accessible payment process for loan borrowers, in line with the government’s efforts to digitize and improve public service delivery.
