Mizuho Securities analysts have maintained their buy rating and a 6.00 price target for Fiserv (NASDAQ:FISV) amidst speculation about the possible acquisition of Shift4 Payments (NYSE:FOUR).
Fiserv, a top financial technology services provider, has been rumored, along with Amadeus, as a potential buyer for Shift4 Payments, a company specializing in integrated payment processing and technology solutions. Although Amadeus has publicly stated its lack of interest in the acquisition, Shift4 Payments announced on November 8 that it was exploring strategic options, leading to discussions about potential acquisition interest from various parties.
Despite Amadeus IT Group stepping back from acquiring Shift4 Payments, Fiserv has not disclosed its acquisition intentions. Mizuho believes that acquiring Shift4 Payments could significantly improve Fiserv’s organic growth in North America, strengthen its presence in the restaurant and hospitality industries, and address concerns about inflation in Argentina.
As the speculation continues, it will be interesting to see how Fiserv navigates the potential acquisition landscape and whether it will ultimately make a move to acquire Shift4 Payments. Subscribe to get the latest news updates on this developing story.
