The winners of the 2024 Manetti Shrem Opera Prize have been revealed as soprano Pretty Yende and tenor Jonathan Tetelman. This prestigious award is given annually to two outstanding emerging talents in the opera world and was established thanks to a generous donation from Jan Shrem and Maria Manetti Shrem as part of the Manetti Shrem Opera Program at Festival Napa Valley. The prize comes with a ,000 grant for career development and opportunities to perform during the Festival’s summer season.
Yende and Tetelman are set to showcase their talents at the Uytengsu Family Opening Night on the Festival Napa Valley Stage at Charles Krug on July 12. Tetelman recently made his Metropolitan Opera debut in “La Rondine,” while Yende is currently starring in a production of “Giulio Cesare” in Frankfurt.
