The Teatro San Carlo to Celebrate Anna Netrebko with Added Performance of “La Gioconda”
To celebrate Anna Netrebko’s 30th anniversary of her stage debut, the Teatro San Carlo will be adding a special performance of Ponchielli’s “La Gioconda” on April 7.
The Russian soprano will be starring in this production alongside Jonas Kaufmann, Anita Rachvelishvili, Alexander Köpeczi, Kseniia Nikolaieva, and Ludovic Tézier. The new production, conducted by Pinchas Steinberg and directed by Romain Gilbert, promises to be a captivating evening for opera lovers.
This additional performance will precede the originally planned shows that are set to run from April 10 to April 17, 2024. Netrebko will also be making her role debut in “La Gioconda” at the Salzburg Easter Festival alongside Kaufmann and Luca Salsi under the baton of Sir Antonio Pappano.
