Chris Hemsworth Chosen by Anna Wintour to Co-host 2022 Met Gala

Chris Hemsworth has been chosen by Vogue editor Anna Wintour to co-host the highly anticipated 2024 Met Gala, set to take place on Monday, May 6. Alongside Hemsworth, other co-hosts will include Jennifer Lopez, Zendaya, and rapper Bad Bunny. The event, themed Sleeping Beauties, will bring together Hollywood and fashion elites at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.

As co-chair of the Met Gala, Hemsworth will play a significant role in the event, highlighting the unique style stories of the attendees. The honorary chairs for the evening will be Loewe creative director Jonathan Anderson and TikTok CEO Shou Zi Chew.

The exhibition for this year’s Met Gala is titled The Garden of Time, featuring around 250 items from The Costume Institute’s permanent collection. Displayed with elements such as AI and GCI, the exhibition will focus on themes of land, sea, and sky.

Andrew Bolton, Wendy Yu curator in charge of the Costume Institute, described the exhibition as an ode to nature and the emotional poetics of fashion, aiming to activate a sensory appreciation of fashion among visitors.

Chris Hemsworth and his wife Elsa Pataky made a fashion statement as they attended Anna Wintour’s pre-Met Gala gathering, showcasing their style ahead of the event. Despite rainy weather, the couple’s appearance generated buzz as they stepped out in style for the upcoming Met Gala.
