Renowned trumpet player Mike Lovatt’s 25-piece brass orchestra, Brass Pack, is set to honor the legendary musical icons Ella Fitzgerald and Frank Sinatra with a special performance titled ‘Let’s Get Together’. Joined by star vocalists Louise Clare Marshall and Matt Ford, the orchestra will take the stage at Birmingham Town Hall on Thursday, August 8th.
The show promises to be a night of spectacular music with exceptional arrangements by Colin Skinner, breathing new life into jazz and swing classics. Following successful appearances at the Harrogate International Festival and Britten Pears Snape Maltings Summer Festival, Lovatt expressed his hopes for this performance to be more than just a one-time event.
“I’ve always wanted to bring this music to a live audience in a way that pays tribute to the icons that are Ella and Frank,” said Lovatt. “The arrangements by Colin are superb, staying true to the originals while adding a fresh authenticity to the music. With Louise and Matt on board, who are considered the best in the business, I am thrilled at the opportunity to perform with them.”
The show will be filmed and recorded for future release, ensuring that the magic of the evening is captured and shared with a wider audience. Attendees are encouraged to relax, enjoy, and immerse themselves in the timeless music of Ella Fitzgerald and Frank Sinatra.
