In a strategic move to address the rising demand for home care services, SYNERGY® HomeCare has officially opened its latest franchise, SYNERGY HomeCare of Toms River, located along the picturesque Jersey Shore. Operating under the leadership of Ivie Omoruyi, a dedicated healthcare professional with 23 years of experience, this new office aims to provide a range of compassionate, non-medical home care services to residents throughout Ocean County, including the communities of Brick, Lakewood, and Toms River.
The Toms River facility, situated at 1520 Route 37 East, Suite 2, will offer a variety of tailored services designed to enhance the quality of life for clients while allowing them to maintain their independence. Services will include companion care, personal care, respite care, and postnatal and post-surgical support, in addition to childcare and babysitting services. These offerings are especially relevant as a significant portion of the population increasingly opts to age in place.
Omoruyi’s decision to establish SYNERGY HomeCare of Toms River is motivated by her extensive background in healthcare as well as her personal experiences as a caregiver. The U.S. Census indicates that Baby Boomers are hitting the age of 65 at a staggering rate of 10,000 per day. By 2030, over 70 million Americans will be classified as seniors, with studies by AARP showing that more than 80% prefer to remain in their homes as they age.
Throughout her career, Omoruyi has worked in various healthcare roles, including her positions as a registered nurse, certified nurse midwife, and advanced registered nurse practitioner. This diverse experience allowed her to gain first-hand insight into both the needs of patients and the demands placed on caregivers.
Her personal journey into caregiving took a poignant turn when her father was diagnosed with prostate cancer, prompting her to navigate the complexities of his care while managing her responsibilities as a mother of three, including one child with special needs. Her experiences in this challenging period brought to light the harsh realities of caregiver burnout, a prevalent issue that many families encounter.
“Provider burnout is real, and I understand the physical, emotional, and mental toll it takes,” Omoruyi said. “I was fortunate to have a reliable team of caregivers, proving that home care is invaluable not only for the elderly but for anyone who needs assistance.”
The necessity for home care services in Ocean County is apparent, especially with statistics indicating that over 25% of local residents are 65 years and older. Many seniors within this demographic require support with essential daily tasks, including meal preparation, transportation, light housekeeping, and personal care routines.
“Our mission is to alleviate the challenges faced by families, empower caregivers, and ensure the highest quality of care for those who need it the most,” Omoruyi emphasized. With her commitment to providing comprehensive care solutions, Omoruyi and her team at SYNERGY HomeCare of Toms River are poised to make a meaningful difference in the lives of their clients and the community at large.
