The Art Beyond Tradition Group has been showcasing abstract art on Hilton Head Island since 2006. Their mission is to make abstract art more accessible to a wider audience by organizing regular exhibitions of abstract works.

This spring, the group will be hosting an exhibit titled “Visual Theatrics” at the USCB Center for the Arts in Beaufort. Each artist participating in the exhibit uses elements like line, color, form, texture, shape, value, and movement to create unique and captivating artworks. The emphasis is on imagination and experimentation, leading to visually engaging and surprising experiences for viewers.

The artists featured in this exhibition include Earline Allen, Joanna Chalson, Cindy Chiappetta, John Crum, Jo Dye, Mark Larkin, Sharon Collings Licata, and Donna Varner. Additionally, there will be a special exhibit dedicated to the late Mary Sullivan, a past participant in the group.
