Funko, a popular pop-culture lifestyle brand, has recently revealed its latest collectible line called Project Fred. This new collection marks Funko’s initial venture into the premium collectibles market. The centerpiece of Project Fred is the Project Fred 01 – Bob’s Big Boy, which pays homage to Funko’s very first product, the Bob’s Big Boy Wacky Wobbler.

Standing at 11 inches tall, the Project Fred 01 – Bob’s Big Boy features Freddy, Funko’s beloved mascot. Only 750 units of this hard vinyl figure will be available in this release, with 75 of them being a special variant of Freddy in a different Bob’s Big Boy outfit. Each figure comes in matte packaging alongside a numbered certificate of authenticity.

Mike Becker, the senior vice president of creative and entertainment at Funko, expressed excitement about the Project Fred launch, stating, “As we look beyond our 25th anniversary, we’re taking it back to where it all began with our first Wacky Wobbler by bringing Bob’s Big Boy and Funko together again for Project Fred.”

To mark the launch of Project Fred, Funko and Bob’s Big Boy hosted an event at the historic Bob’s Big Boy site in Burbank on Feb. 27, featuring a restaurant takeover that lasted until Feb. 28. The first 150 attendees on both days received an exclusive limited-edition pin.

Stay tuned for more Project Fred releases in the near future.
