Apple Music has introduced a new subscription data analytics program called the Apple Music Partner Program, targeting record labels and distributors. This program offers subscribers access to more than 4,500 charts that rank up to 1,500 songs across 60 genres and 270 regions. Using Apple’s Shazam technology, the tool monitors airplay on over 40,000 broadcast and streaming radio stations globally, providing real-time listener counts for songs in their catalogs.
Subscribers can also measure the success of their marketing campaigns using the accompanying tools. Some charts will be made public on Shazam or as playlists on Apple Music, including the Global Top 200 and breakdowns across sixteen formats and genres. The Chart Explorer dashboard enables artists to track new milestones and identify emerging trends early on.
The Chart Explorer default view displays data from the past seven days, with filters available to tailor the search by storefront, chart type, date, and genre. Subscribers can also search for specific artists, songs, or albums to see their chart history and rankings. The dashboard provides insights into an artist’s most popular content, chart appearances, and performance metrics.
Overall, the Apple Music Partner Program offers valuable insights and tools for record labels, distributors, and artists to analyze data, track trends, and enhance their marketing strategies in the competitive music industry.
