The Strategic Planning Steering Committee at UMass Amherst, led by co-chairs Anne Massey and MJ Peterson, provided an update to the campus community regarding the progress of the strategic planning process. The six strategic planning working groups have completed their thematic reports, which include strategic analyses and recommendations in key areas such as Education, Research and Creative Activity, Engagement, and Inclusivity.
The working groups utilized various resources to inform their reports, such as previous strategic plans, reports, and feedback collected from the campus community. Now, all members of the community are encouraged to review the thematic reports and provide feedback by May 28, 2024. The reports and comment forms can be found on the strategic planning website, requiring a UMass NetID and password for access.
Moving forward, the Strategic Planning Steering Committee will use the feedback received to develop a comprehensive ten-year strategic plan to be submitted to Chancellor Javier Reyes by September 1, 2024. The committee acknowledges the dedication and effort of the working groups and expresses gratitude to everyone who has contributed to the strategic planning process.
As the campus community looks towards 2034, the committee is committed to shaping the future of UMass Amherst with a strategic vision that reflects the collective input and aspirations of all stakeholders.
Sincerely,
